The Center for Continuing Education at the Southern Technical University organized a protest and solidarity stand to express its rejection of the Azerbaijani authorities’ decision to prevent veiled female students from entering schools and educational institutions. This stand stems from the Southern Technical University’s belief in its humanitarian and academic mission, and its keenness to consolidate the principles of justice, equality, and respect for cultural and religious diversity, as well as supporting women’s right to education and exercising their personal freedom in accordance with human rights and relevant international conventions. This initiative embodies the keenness of the Southern Technical University and the Center for Continuing Education to express humanitarian positions in support of rights and freedoms, and to enhance community awareness of the importance of education as a basic human right, far from any form of segregation and discrimination.
