The President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, opened the job fair organized by the university in cooperation with the Department of Technological and Scientific Incubator and the Center for Continuing Education, with wide participation from dozens of local and international companies operating in Basra Governorate, with the aim of strengthening communication between academic institutions and the labor sector, and introducing employment opportunities and labor market requirements.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the University President met with representatives of the participating companies, expressing his happiness and gratitude for this broad and effective participation, stressing that the university aspires for the exhibition to be more than just an event to showcase job opportunities, but rather a real space for meeting between academic knowledge and practical experience, and between the ambitions of young people and the needs of the labor market. His Excellency pointed out that the university's responsibility does not end with students graduating and granting them certificates, but rather extends to preparing and qualifying them and giving them the skills required by the work environment, in a way that enhances their opportunities for professional integration and contributes to meeting the needs of institutions and companies. He added that the university's relations with companies and institutions operating in the public and private sectors should not be limited to events or immediate cooperation frameworks. Rather, the university seeks to establish sustainable strategic partnerships that begin with identifying the needs of the labor market, and proceed to developing curricula and enhancing practical training, all the way to providing real opportunities for employment and professional development.
The exhibition witnessed a wide attendance of professors and specialists, as well as representatives of the media and news agencies
