The Continuing Education Center at the Southern Technical University organized a course on maintenance and operation of water treatment plants for the Shatt al-Arab project for the benefit of employees of the Basra Governorate Water Directorate. The course, which was attended by professors and specialists from the Technical College of Engineering and the Basra Technical Institute, included topics including: identifying the parts of the treatment plants, starting from the intake source until processing, in addition to identifying the sedimentation basins and the mixing and sterilization mechanism. The course aims to develop the cadres working for the directorate in a way that qualifies them to operate and maintain central stations within their service projects, which will contribute to improving the infrastructure in the governorate.
