Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Ateeq, the Center for Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the Southern Technical University, hosted visiting professor Dr. Hussein Ahmed, Director of the Training and Development Department at Northwest Education and Training, where he gave a lecture entitled (Technical education is the primary source of community service). The lecture, which was attended by assistants to the university president as well as deans of some formations and department directors, included topics including technical education and its difference from academic education, vision and strategies, and how we finance the skills of technical students as well as providing manpower. The lecture aims to introduce the points related to technical education and how to fill the gaps by relying on scientific and practical systems and transparency in work. The lecture concluded with the importance of twinning with international universities that are close to the specialization and creating a scientific guide to bridge the gap between graduates and the labor market in addition to the necessity of involving graduates from technical institutes and colleges in courses related to capacity building and skill enhancement. At the conclusion of the lecture, the President of the University handed the lecturer a certificate of thanks and appreciation for him and for the topic he raised.
