The Southern Technical University organized an in-person workshop entitled “Extremism Leading to Terrorism,” presented by Professor Saad Nazim from the College of Engineering Technology, at the university’s Continuing Education Center. This workshop comes within the framework of the university’s ongoing efforts focused on enhancing awareness among participants about the dangers resulting from the phenomenon of extremism and its prominent role in the spread of terrorism. The workshop addressed the issue of extremism from multiple aspects, explaining the reasons leading to the development of this phenomenon and ways to address it, while highlighting its negative effects on societies. Strategies for preventing and reducing the effects of extremism were also reviewed, through interactive dialogue and discussions in the workshop. These activities aim to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the challenges of extremism and terrorism, and to enhance society’s ability to confront these dangerous phenomena.
